My Professional Training

I trained for 4 years at the Welsh School of Homeopathy. I am a member of the Royal Society of Homeopaths. This professional body allows me to use the letters RSHom after my name, and denotes that I am fully qualified, insured, and governed by a strict code of ethics and practice.

HOMEOPATHY

What is it?

Homeopathy is a holistic system of medicine, based on an understanding of the interconnection between mind and body. Homeopaths recognise that all symptoms of ill health are expressions of imbalance within the individual, so that they treat the whole person and not the disease.

Homeopathy has been established for more than 200 years. How does it work? Instead of attacking symptoms with strong drugs, which can give rise to unpleasant side-effects, homeopathy aims to stimulate and strengthen the immune system, thereby helping the body’s natural tendency to heal itself. Homeopathic medicines, called remedies, are prescribed in very low dilution, after a special matching process, which takes into account individual symptoms and characteristics.

When might you choose homeopathy?

Emotional stress caused by grief, shock, abandonment, disappointment, or major life-changes such as moving house, can leave us drained, and may damage our health if left untreated. Homeopathy can provide an excellent early intervention, helping to rebalance the mind and the emotions.

Homeopathy can support children with behavioural problems, or teenagers with loss of confidence. It can be effective for the school-phobic child, or the adolescent overwhelmed with exam nerves.

Homeopathy can be safely used with babies and young children, and many mothers will choose homeopathy for its reputation in treating the common childhood diseases, or allergies.

Homeopathy has a good track record for supporting women through periods of hormonal change, from adolescence, through pregnancy and childbirth to the menopause and beyond. It can be safely used alongside orthodox medication from your doctor.

What will your treatment be like?

Your first session will take about one and a half hours; in order to find the remedy that is right for you, I will need to know a lot about you as an individual. Of course, anything you say will be treated in the strictest confidence. Afterwards, you will be sent a remedy, with written instructions on how to take it. I will make myself available over the phone at agreed times for any questions that may come up during your course of treatment.

How many treatments do you need?

This depends very much on your illness, so it is difficult to assess until after the 2nd appointment. A longstanding complaint is likely to take longer to improve than a more recent one.

How much will it cost?

An initial consultation is £60 with subsequent sessions at £30. Concessions will be considered.
